Depose France Carved Celluloid 1940's Brooch

$80.00 AUD

A perfect example of the beautiful carved celluloid brooches produced in France during the 1920's-1940's period. Many of them have the "Depose France" signature to the back however unsigned versions as this is, were common during the Art Deco boom as the celluloid panels were also sold in bulk by French workshops to different jewellery retailors across Europe and North America, ready to be mounted in to brass or base metal borders. A recent arrival from France, this  carved scene of three horse heads suggests movement. It is set in an edged frame with a typical trombone clasp to the back.  Measurement is 4cnms x 3.5cms. In excellent condition, gift boxed by Vintageonline.
