Scottish Thistle Mizpah Celtic Brooch

Vintage rhodium plated & Purple stone Scottish thistle brooch by Mizpah. The brooch is signed Mizpah to the back along with two hearts through an arrow. This is the signature of the Miracle Company trading as A Hill & Co of Birmingham, UK. Mizpah is a trading name used by the Miracle Company. The word itself means bravery, strength, durability and determination and is translated as "May God Be With You"  Although this is a British Company this range of jewellery has always been associated with Scotland because of its thistle reference.  Here we have a large example in perfect condition, measuring 4cms across with a firm roll over safety clasp to the back.  Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
