Mackintosh Style Brooch

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect, designer, water colourist, and artist. He lived from 1868 to 1928, and was a major figure in the Art Nouveau movement. His art was well known and is still revered today for his trademark floral tendrils and abstract grids. And so many artists have copied his style as is evident in this lovely brooch recently found in a market in the UK.  It has been hand made and there is a signature on the back, sadly unreadable to my eye.  The brooch is in excellent condition and presents as an acrylic overlay on the design which has the unmistakeable Mackintosh style.  Measurement across is 5cms. There is a firm silver tone roll over clasp to the back.  Gorgeous autumnal colours. Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
