Feather lite 1950's Brooch and Earrings
The term feather lite was a brand name used to describe a popular style of lightweight costume jewellery made from early plastic like celluloid, moulded resin, or bubbleite which was a term for moulded plastic with air bubbles, during the 1950's. The use of plastic after WW11 was a trend in costume jewellery due to metal shortages. Many collections were produced in West Germany or Japan. This is a pretty vintage 1950's feather lite set with sparkling aurora borealis finished rhinestones. These quirky mid century pieces offer weightless comfort and are an iconic 1950's look.
The brooch measures 5.5cms across. In perfect condition with a silver tone roll over safety clasp to the back. The matching earrings measure 4cms across and are clip on, light and comfortable. All aurora borealis rhinestones are present, and are sparkling. Recent arrival from USA. Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
