Feather Lite 1950's Vintage Necklace & Earrings

Featherlite and Featherweight were used as brand names to describe this popular style of light weight jewellery produced during the late 1940's and 1950's.  It is special from the nostalgic 1950's and truly is light as a feather. So easy to wear and unmistakeably true vintage. The use of celluloid plastic after WW11 was a huge trend due to the shortage of various metals.  Although some pieces were produced in USA, the majority was produced in West Germany and Japan.  This set is particularly beautiful, set with clear rhinestones throughout the necklace, and aurora borealis rhinestones in the clip on earrings.   The earrings measure 3cms across carved in the shape of a chrysanthemum head and the gold tone clip mechanism is firm and comfortable. It has the "featherweight " signature on the back of the clip.   The necklace has a central chrysanthemum shape with carved sections either side and a celluloid chain.
