WWII Sweetheart Buddy Sailor Pin Brooch
Sweetheart brooches were aptly named during WWII when servicemen would give them to their sweethearts left behind. Brooches were made within a cottage industry at home, and also in small factories. The Buddy brooches were produced in America and are highly collectable today. They were produced in large and small sizes, and this cute example is the smaller size at 6.5cms length and 2.5cms across his shoulders. His articulated body has all the connectors there. He has some signs of wear to be expected for his long life with a little paint loss. His left hand is now missing the flesh colour, or perhaps it was always missed. Such a nostalgic piece from the past. He has a firm pin to the back. Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
