Napier USA 60's Design Shaggy Dog Brooch

A really cute brooch from the design house of Napier in USA.  The Napier Company started in business as far back as 1878 in Massachusetts under the name of E.A.Bliss Co producing men's watch chains.  Over the years as they developed their costume jewellery ranges they became known for simple modern and quality costume jewellery. Their manufacturing plant closed in 1999 but jewellery is still being made under the umbrella of Jones Apparel Group USA.

Research shows that this is a 1960's design. It is in such perfect condition that it may have been a re release at some stage. From an estate sale USA. A really cute dog with his intricately designed shaggy coat and ears.  Not huge at 4cms x 3cms made from quality gold tone metal. There is the Napier signature and firm roll over clasp to the back.
