Irish Tara Ware Vintage Brooch

From the Irish company Tara Ware (Dublin) we have a beautifully enamelled vintage brooch. The main inspiration for this range is the world famous sacred manuscript known as "The Book of Kells" which was beautifully illustrated by monks during medieval times. Enamel jewellery is the art for which the ancient Irish were famous. Accompanied by paper tags each jewellery piece told a history of ancient Irish jewellery art. The company produced costume jewellery from 1935 until the late 1980's.  Overall dimension of the brooch is 4cms across, vibrant Guilloche enamel, copper, bronze and gilding. Over brass tone metal with a roll over C clasp to the back. Condition is good with little wear obvious. There is a mark to the back which is not noticeable.
