Egyptian Design Vintage Brooch

This lovely brooch from America in gold tone metal is covered with what looks to be ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbols. There is a large bird, which symbolises the great one, and a number of others including the central sun ray. The stone may be meant to represent a cicada. It is likely a resin of some type. It is a roughly finished stone with touches of orange and white. Overall dimension is 6cms top to bottom, and 5cms across at widest point. It is in very good condition, with a firm roll over safety clasp to the back.
