Betty Boop Vintage Rhinestone Pin Brooch

Betty Boop was a female character developed in the 1930's and she became very popular through the whole of the 1930's characterized as a fully sexualised woman in flapper style. Times changed and it was not until the stricter 1950's had passed that her character became revived and again reached popularity.  It reached a peak during the 1970's and 1980's as she bacame acknowledged as a counter culture icon and fashion figure.  Her popularity has not waned since then with "Boop The Musical" popularised over the more recent years. Many of the cartoons of the 1930's have since been coloured from the original black and white bring a whole generation of new admirers.  This lovely Betty Boop brooch has the signature KFSFS HEARST to the back which is the signature for the licensing trademark and refers to Hearst Holdings the owner of the character. Research shows this particular brooch is likely part of the 1980's - 1990's ranges.   Their is a full face of shimmering rhinestones with black enamelled hair, green enamelled eyes, and red lips. Overall dimension is 5cms x 4cms, set in silver tone metal with a firm roll over safety clasp to the back.  In very good condition, gift boxed by Vintageonline
