Sweet Violets Vintage 1940's Enamelled Necklace and Earrings, Made Austria.

A dainty and beautiful set with cold enamelled violets to a gold tone chain, and matching earrings set in gold tone that are clip on, both firm and comfortable. I have seen this set promoted as a suffragette set, but my research does not confirm that.  I think it is likely to date a bit later, possibly 1940's or early 1950's.  A recent arrival from the UK and has obviously been well looked after. Difficult to date exactly. It is in very good condition, with five violet heads to the neck chain, each flower head measuring 2cms and almost 2cms. The gold tone chain with ring clasp measures 41cms end to end, and could take an extension chain if required.  The matching clip on earrings measure the same as the smaller violets in the chain almost 2cms across. Marked Austria to the clip. It is a lovely dainty set and true vintage,  gift boxed by Vintageonline.
