Paua Shell Pendant on Chain

An oval of paua shell set in silver tone metal framed in heraldic shaped frame also in silver tone and hanging from a silver tone box chain measuring 60cms long ending with a firm lobster clasp.  The pendant measures 4.5cms x 4.5cms and the centred pau shell measures 1.5cms x 1.5cms. From an estate sale with no provenance, likely to be from the 1970's - 1980's era.  In some photos the paua shell looks quite dark whilst in fact the centre of it is the typical aqua colour. In excellent condition, gift boxed by Vintageonline. A really interesting piece wearable by either gender.
