Oscar de la Renta Designer Brooch

Oscar de la Renta founded his fashion house in 1967, after living in Spain where he studied painting and art history at the Academy of St. Fernando in Madrid. According to his biography he dressed many of the first US ladies, including Jacqueline Kennedy,  Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, and Hillary Clinton. He was twice president of the American Council of Fashion Designers and during 1993 and 2002 created collections for the Pierre Balmain House. He was the first American to lead the Paris fashion house.  His jewellery was always an addition the wonderful clothing designs, and although Oscar de la Renta died in 2014 his company under the Richton International Corp continues today.  This is a beautiful brooch with three magnificent glass cabochon stones - hot pink, red, and turquoise, set in matte gold tone metal. Dimension of the brooch is 5.5cms x 5cms. There is a firm roll over safety clasp to the back, along with the Oscar de la Renta signature.  In perfect condition.  A fairly contemporary piece no earlier than the 1980's Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
