Hattie Carnegie Vintage Mid Century Earrings

A pair of glitzy metal braid earrings with clear rhinestone enhancements from the 1950's period.  Hattie Carnegie first went into business in 1909  making ladies hats in New York. By the 1930's she had included clothing in her ranges and it eventually led to the production of jewellery to accessorise the clothes. As the hats and clothes did not survive in big numbers she has become known for the huge collection of jewellery she eventually produced, many pieces have survived and are highly collectable today.  Her jewellery was worn by many of the Hollywood stars and when an auction was held to sell a collection of jewellery that had belonged to Marilyn Monroe, now over 30 years ago, a Hattie Carnegie bracelet at that time sold for $6,500. Here we have a lovely pair of her vintage earrings in very good condition showing no wear at all. Signed  Carnegie on the clip mechanism.T both firm and comfortable.
