Hollycraft 1955 Coloured Rhinestone Brooch Pin and Matching Earrings Set

The wonderful American Costume Jewellery Company Hollycraft was founded in New York City by designer Joseph Chorbajian as early as 1938. Originally named the Hollywood Jewelry Manufacturing Co. It was re branded ten years later in 1948 to Hollycraft. They had a superb reputation for the use of brilliant rhinestones and their special antique gold tone finish. One of the wonderful things about vintage Hollycraft is that during the 1950's they did date their pieces, along with their signature, a practice that they appear to have discontinued during the 1960's.  And so to the back of the brooch of this set we have the date for 1955 along with the Hollycraft signature. The company closed in 1971.  The brooch has a large central fully faced lilac rhinestone surrounded by rhinestones in varying shapes and colours. In very good condition, a testament to the quality that has kept the pieces perfect for 70 years. Dimension across the brooch is almost 5cms with a firm roll over safety clasp to the back. The matching earrings measure 3cms across. They have a clip on mechanism, firm and comfortable, with the Hollycraft signature, and the date for 1955.  Nice to know they have been together as a set for all the years.  Just gorgeous, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
