Schiaparelli Vintage Brooch

Elsa Schiaparelli was launched as a fashion designer in 1927 and it was during the 1930's that she also began to produce jewellery as an accessory to her wonderful styles. The signature to the back of this lovely brooch indicates production during the 1950's when her signature changed from block to script. The Schiaparelli empire closed in the late 1950's. Here we have a silver tone brooch with a large fully faceted deep blue glass sapphire like stone prong set, with channel set clear rhinestones and 7 drops of gold tone chain finished with a clear rhinestone. Each stone shiny and bright.   A firm roll over safety clasp to the back. It has to be noted that on the sweep of the plain silver tone on the side of the brooch, upon inspection there is a little wear. In my view it is not something that will detract on wearing. It was difficult to photograph, but mentioned for accuracy. Dimension of the brooch is a drop of 11cms and width across of 5cm.
