Birthday Brooch for April Iris Exquisite UK 1960's

Exquisite Birthday brooches were a popular line for the Exquisite Jewellery Company produced in Solihull, UK during the 1960's. They produced a different flower for each month, and this gorgeous example is their design for April. Beautifully hand crafted with cold enamelling these are highly collectable. The Exquisite brand itself was a trademark of W.A.P Watson, founded in 1914, and they were in business until the 1970's. Made from a strong gold tone metal with a firm roll over safety clasp and Exquisite signature to the back. The brooch measures 7cms x 4.5cms. It is in good condition, with some wear to the enamelling commensurate with its 60 plus years of age, but nothing that detracts from wearing this nostalgic vintage Iris delight.
