Barcelona, Spain Tourist Wooden Brooch

Along with this interesting hand made brooch is its provenance which attributes the brooch to the Absis de Santa Maria d'Aneu.  On researching it appears the frescoes from the original church of Santa Maria are now exhibited at Museum Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Barcelona.  There is U tube available of these frescoes and the face hand painted on to the brooch resembles the face of the saints depicted in the frescoes. The brooch is likely to have come from the Museum Shop, and taken home as a tourist souvenier. Dimension across is 5.5cms. There is a firm roll over safety clasp to the back. It is in perfect condition, along with the original box and authentic paperwork.
