Lisner Vintage 1950's Thermoset Lucite Grey Collar Necklace

Lucite became very popular for the production of costume jewellery in the 1940's and 1950's. It was easy to work with, could be dyed and polished and is so light and comfortable to wear. Major costume jewellery manufacturers in the USA produced many different pieces. It is a high quality acrylic synonymous with mid century jewellery and highly collectable today. This is a lovely example from the Lisner Company which was founded in New York in 1904 and was in business until its closure in the early 1980's. There is the Lisner signature to the silver tone hook clasp. Each section measures 2cms x 2.5cms and length of the necklace end to end is 40cms including the 9cms extension.  It is choker style meant to be work high at the neck. The soft grey colour makes it a versatile accessory. In very good condition, gift boxed by Vintageonline.
