Hand Made "Eye" Brooch

Following on from the age old tradition of the late 18th and early 19th century when "eye " jewellery was very popular. It is a trend said to have started when the then Prince of Wales (later King George 1V) sent an eye brooch to his lover Mrs. Mary Fitzherbert. So this is a current example - imaginatively recently hand made with the large oval velvet eye set in a large oval resin frame....so cute., and quite large measuring 9cms x 6cms. From an estate sale with no provenance....we can only guess.  There is a firm roll over safety clasp to the back.
