1940's Art Deco Sweater Guard Pin Clip

Sweater guards were very popular during the 1940's and 1950's.  Very practical for hold across a cardigan or jacket from one side to the other...and also decorative on the tips of a blouse or shirt. Many were made with a clamper clip but this lovely example is much more practical with C shaped mechanism to the back, which makes it easy to have the advantage of using simply as a double brooch and let the chain hang. So many useful alternatives. Each leaf designed copper section at either end measures 4.5cms x 2.5cms and the width across of the two hanging chains is 15cms.
