Art Deco Czech Rhinestone Flower Basket Brooch

Baskets have been popular in jewellery for a long time with a particular emphasis during the Victorian era when they were small and detailed. Their popularity continued and this lovely example in antiqued gold tone filigree is typical of the art deco period and would likely have been produced in Czechoslovakia. So sweet measuring a petite 4cms x 3cms. In very good pre loved condition with a firm C clasp to the back. The basket sits on a filigree base and the basket will actually stand on its own when not being worn. During the 1920's many of the precious stone baskets were produced in silver with emeralds, diamonds etc. and this one has coloured rhinestones along with two pearl beads.
