1940's Pot Metal Enamel and Rhinestone Flamingo Brooch

There was a range of these fabulous flamingos produced in the first half of the last century and although unsigned were often attributed to some of the larger producers of beautiful costume jewellery of the time like Reinad, Chanel, Coro. Possibly following on from the flamingo jewellery Wallis Simpson wore. This lovely example has hand painted shaded enamel on his feathers with a textured gold tone pot metal body inset with sparkling blue faceted rhinestones. He is in great vintage condition with minimal wear, and a firm roll over safety clasp to the back. Quite large in size at 8cms x 4.5cms.
