Elzac 1940's Victim of Fashion Brooch

$225.00 AUD

This fabulous series of 1940's brooches is very special. Elzac of Hollywood was formed by the wonderful creators of the Barbie doll,  operating for a brief period between 1942 and 1944 prior to founding the famous Mattel toy company. Elzac produced this unique range during WW11. The brand became immensely popular made by hand using ceramic faces and fragments of textiles, trims, metal findings, metallic thread and lucite. They were not signed and came with hang tags. At the time Sacs New York was the main retailer.

This lovely piece of wearable art has all its finishes intact and she is truly exotic. The hand constructed ceramic image is dressed and set to a metal backing.   Her overall dimension is 8cms x 5cms. There is a firm roll over safety clasp to the back. Today these brooches are are among the best of popular and collectible costume jewellery. She is in good condition, especially considering she is well over 80 years old. A rare find, gift boxed by Vintageonline.
