1940's Vintage Pot Metal Brooch
For the lovers of true nostalgic vintage, look no further than the beautiful brooches of the 1940's when pot metal became popular in the manufacture of costume jewellery. Following on from war when precious metals were scarce, the low cost pot metal came in to its own combining zinc, lead, tin and slowly melting into the pot metal which was then used in production of some beautiful pieces often as this is, embellished with rhinestones, and in this case 6 beautiful moonstones. Overall dimension is 7cms x 5.5cms. A free form spray tied with a ribbon. Gorgeous vintage, in good condition considering its age with all rhinestones intact and minor unobtrusive wear to the metal. There is a firm roll over clasp to the back.
