1940's Vintage Hand Brooch

A stunning vintage brooch, quite substantial in size at 11cms in length and 3cms width. The nine fully faceted ruby red rhinestones are gorgeous, and have an open back to enhance the light.  Jewellery in the shape of a hand has been around since Roman times and was extremely popular during the sentimental Georgian and Victorian times through to the modern day.  This lovely example is from the 1940's period with outstretched hand holding a spray of rhinestone flowers to signify loyalty, strength, romance and fidelity.
