Albert Weiss founded his costume jewellery production company in 1942 in USA after working as a designer for Coro during the 1930's. The Weiss Company went on to be highly successful and extremely well regarded within the costume jewellery industry. It ceased operation in 1971. They were one of the first companies to use
Swarovski's polychromatic aurora borealis rhinestones. There are a wreath shaped combination of tear drop and round aurora borealis rhinestones in this stunning brooch from the 1950's - 1960's period. It is in excellent condition for its 70 year age with just a couple of small blemishes which do not detract at all. Each rhinestone prong set and set in silver tone metal with a firm roll over safety clasp to the back along with the WEISS signature. Overall dimension is a substantial 6cms across.
