Trifari Vintage 1940's Rhinestone Choker Necklace
In 1930 the American Company Trifari hired Alfred Philippe as head designer of jewellery, and that was a huge turning point for the company. Philippe's background was in the design of high end jewellery and had worked producing designs for Cartier, Van Cleef, and Arples. It was this talent he brought to Trifari as he designed costume jewellery emulating the magnificent gold and diamond jewellery of his past. This lovely choker necklace is part of a range designed by Alfred Philippe during the 1940's. It is a gold plate necklace with a centrepeice of sparkling round, marqise, baguette, and teardrop shaped rhinestone flowers. There is the Trifari mark to the firm fold over clasp. The centrepiece measures approx. 6cms x 3cms with gold plate chain. Length end to end is 35cms, to sit at the throat. It could have an extension chain attached if further length were required. It is in excellent pre loved condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
