Art Deco Tortoishell and Diamante French Brooch
The principal motifs in Art Deco jewellery design were simple geo-metric forms-the square, the circle, the rectangle........Bakelite was around as well as a number of other plastics that were utilized for a wide number of products, including jewellery.....and so this gorgeous art deco brooch reflects the era.
It is rectangle in shape - 6cms x 2cms with a trumpet style pin to the back. The front of the brooch has been carved with a floral design, and both the perimeter, and two decorative curves have been embellished with amber coloured diamante stones. A delightful piece for the lover of all things art deco. The plastic material itself has been produced to emulate tortoishell.......a very popular look of the time. This gorgeous French brooch brought back from Paris is in excellent condition, and gift boxed for giving.
