Sweetheart Vintage Expansion Bracelet USA

Sweetheart jewellery's popularity began during Victorian times and became extremely popular during both World Wars. It was traditional for a soldier, sailor, or airman to give a piece of sentimental jewellery to his wife, girlfriend, or mother before departing to fight. This gorgeous bracelet is typical of a number that were produced in USA during the 1930's 40's and 50's.  It is a gold filled finish over stainless steel. The band expands from 4cms to 8cms to fit all wrists. There is a heart shaped locket with firm clasp in to which a photograph or two can be placed. The expansion bracelet has a combination of alternating rose coloured gold and yellow gold. The rose coloured gold pieces are filigreed. The engraving on the front of the heart locket is beautiful with tiny fish and flowers. Marked LUSTERN made in USA. The Louis Stern Company was founded in 1871 in Providence, RI. and manufactured jewellery until the 1950's.  In very good condition. It has obviously been well looked after.
