Sphinx Ruby Rhinestone 1960's Brooch

Sphinx was a UK company which began in the late 1940's owned by S. Root. Based in Chiswick, London it operated until the 1990's. They had a reputation for quality rhinestones and settings and also produced jewellery for some of the major costume jewellery companies of the day. This lovely example is in pristine condition with a deco shape combining ruby red rhinestones and clear rhinestones. Overall dimension is 5cmx x 4cms. Gold tone back with Sphinx signature and a firm roll over gold clasp. Purchased in the UK from one of the later partners who has held old stock for some time.  Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
