RENOIR Vintage 60's Copper Necklace
The American company Renoir was founded in Los Angeles in 1946 and was in production until 1964. Jerry Fels who started the company and produced the designs had attended the National Academy of Design and his use of copper for costume jewellery was very innovative at the time. He also developed a surface coating that was applied to counteract any corrosion that might occur in the metal. During the early 1960's the company also embraced enamelling copper jewelry and that was the beginning of the Matisse range.
This fabulous example is signed Renoir. The 29 copper drops have a drop of 3cms. Length end to end of the necklace is 43cms including 7cms extension chain ending with a firm hook clasp. In very good condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline. Free shipping within Australia.
