NORMAN HARTNELL Rare Vintage 1950's Pearl/Rhinestone Necklace
It is five years since I last had this necklace in my stock. Norman Hartnell was world renowned for his beautiful dresses and in particular the gowns made for both the Queen, the Queen Mother, and Princess Margaret. He made both the Queen, and Princess Margaret's wedding dresses.(Read more about him in our Designer Information) It was during the 1950's that he also produced a small range of costume jewellery and this necklace was one of those. Only the finest of components were used for his jewellery and these small v shaped faux pearls were synonymous with him. Along with creamy beige pearls there are also green facet cut rhinestones, and smaller round pink rhinestones. Width of the pearl with the rhinestone is 1.5cms and length end to end is 39cms...so typical of the small necks of the time. I have searched for Norman Hartnell pieces constantly and this is extremely rare and highly collectable. In excellent condition, a fine silver chain with the Norman Hartnell signature to the back.
