Mucha Style Print Lucite 60's Brooch

The popularity of the beautiful art nouveau paintings of Alphonse Mucha at the turn of the 19th century inspired many artists well in to the future. During the 1960's when lucite and other plastics became popular for jewellery making many of the Mucha images were used. This brooch depicts one of Alphonse Mucha's Seasons paintings and in particular it denotes winter. Wonderfully stylized and encased in faux tortoiseshell frame. There is a roll over safety clasp to the back marked Western Germany. Overall dimension is 5cms x 4cms. In excellent condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
