Modernist Brooch & Earrings, Antigona, Paris

Modernist jewellery is in a world of its own and reflects the love of artists for the abandonment of convention and the embrace of a free spirited approach to design. It reflects the attitudes of artists like Salvador Dali and Jackson Pollock. It was a style that became  popular during the 1960's and 1970's.  The Parisian company Antigona Paris which is the signature on this lovely set, was registered in France in 1978 and was in business until the mid 1990's. Their jewellery was sold in prestigious department stores throughout London, France and Europe.   Typically produced in textured gold tone or silver tone metals....each piece unique and collectable.  

This lovely set has a brooch 8cms in width and 3cms across. There is a firm roll in safety clasp to the back along with Antigona, Paris signature.  The earrings are clip on firm and comfortable, with the Antigona signature on the back and measure 3cms x 2cms. All in excellent condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
