Miriam Haskell Leaf Brooch

$70.00 AUD
Miriam Haskell opened her own shop in New York in 1926 and went on to produce elegant costume jewellery with ornate and beautiful designs often using faux pearls, rhinestones, turquoise, shells, bakelite and coral each piece hand wired in brass and copper. Her jewellery has been highly sought after throughout the years and recognised for its high quality workmanship especially for the use of a gold tone metal, an antique Russian gold metal finish developed by Haskell and designer Frank Hess. The business was purchased in 1954 by Morris Kinsler and in 1984 purchased by Sanford Moss and again sold in 1990 to Frank Fialkoff.  Their naturalistic designs and quality materials are still a signature of the company. This lovely brooch is a 1970 - 1980 design. The leaf shape measures 5.5cms x 3cms with Miriam Haskell signature, and firm roll over safety clasp to the back. Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
