D & E Juliana
Juliana Vintage Necklace, Brooch & Earrings Set
A highly sought after exquisite set of Juliana jewellery made by William DeLizza and Harold Ester who were in business in America from 1947 until the 1990's. Although unmarked their pieces are instantly recognizable. It was in 1967 that a hang tag was introduced to attach to the jewellery which for the most part is missing from pieces today. There are a number of reference books on the subject and this particular set is shown on page 186 of "The Art of Juliana Jewelry" by Katerina Musetti. That particular set in the book is shown with a different style of earring.
Here we have a wonderful display of hot fuchsia rhinestones accentuated with curved swags encrusted with iridescent aurora borealis chatons. The set of necklace, earrings and brooch is known as a parure.
The brooch measures 6cms x 4cms with gold tone back and firm roll over safety clasp. The necklace has a central drop of 6cms and 4cms wide. Length of the rhinestone chain end to end is 47cms. The earrings are clip on and measure 4cms x 2cms. The use of aurora borealis stones puts the date of production from the mid 1950's. The whole set is in perfect condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline. A rare find, and so beautiful.
