JJ USA Lady Godiva Vintage Brooch

Founded by Abraham Lisker in 1935 the Jonette Company who produced this cute brooch were in business in Providence, Rhode Island until 2006. Known for their novely designs including figurals and animals, this is a depiction of Lady Godiva from a mythical story from a time during the 13th century when she reputedly rode through the English town of Coventry completely nude with only her long hair for modesty.  The brooch was part of a mythical story group produced during the 1990's period. Measurement of the brooch is 5cms x 5cms. It is in excellent condition with the JJ signature to the back along with a firm fold over clasp.   Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
