Italian Micro Mosaic Vintage Brooch

A lovely vintage Italian micro mosaic brooch.  Micro mosaic brooches have been brought back from Italy as souveniers for many years, since the Grand Tours of Europe during the 19th century. Still today a micro mosaic brooch is sought after to bring home. This particular one is typical of the style of the 1940's - 1950's period. At that time there was a tendency to sit the middle floral section up a little and use slightly larger micro mosaic around the tiny pieces in the flowers. The older ones also tend to have a beautiful patina from their age. There is a brass tone metal setting with C clasp. A little wear to the brass tone metal commensurate with age.
