Hand With Flowers Vintage Brooch
Brooches depicting hands first became fashionable in the early part of the 19th century and since that time have been revived in many different times, and produced in a variety of different materials from coral to onyx, gold, and precious metals and stones. Cartier produced some beautiful hand jewellery during the 1930's . This particular brooch is likely to be a 1940's piece. Very symbolic with the offering of hand in friendship, and the gift of friendship is offered in this particular piece with a bunch of flowers as a token of deep affection.
It is produced in gold tone metal with a spray of flowers with clear diamantes and two flower heads centred with ruby red stone. Overall dimension end to end is a substantial 8.5cms. and width across at the widest point is 4cms. In very good vintage condition with a firm roll over safety clasp to the back. Although unsigned, it is a quality piece and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
