French Artist Mid Century Earrings
Certainly a french man with his black beret and handle bar moustache, and cute beard. These quirky clip on earrings were attributed to the New York Vintage costume jewellery company HAR when I obtained them from USA, but I have been unable to confirm that through my research, and they are unsigned. Each has a comfortable gold tone clip mechanism to the back. Overall dimension is 2cms x 1.5cms. In very good condition considering they are from the 1950's period. Made from carved resin like material set in gold tone metal. The HAR vintage costume jewellery line was produced by Hargo Creations of New York. The company was started by Joseph Heibronner in 1955 and was in existance only until 1968 when Joseph died. . The French artist certainly has the look of some of the lines produced by this company during the 1950's. The earrings are in very good condition considering their almost 70 years age with one having some paint loss on one eye. Not terribly noticeable when worn. Quirky, cute and very french.
