Founded by Coro and launched in 1944 the Vendome brand was active until 1979.  Most were unsigned and relied on a paper hang tag.  The Vendome company was known for elaborate dimensional settings. openwork with metal backings, superior craftmanship with crystal clusters and colour saturated stones - all evident in this lovely brooch.  It is certainly a very beautiful designer piece with numerous irridescent rhinestones and crystal. It measures a substantial 10cms x 5cms. All set in gold tone metal with a firm roll over safety clasp to the back.  Each of the rhinestones has an aurora borealis coating to reflect the light in to a rainbow of colours.
