Emerald Glass Intaglio Statement Necklace & Earrings by Extasia

$225.00 AUD

Signed Extasia. The signature look of Extasia is the use of the glass "intaglios" which are hand crafted using steele molds. The reverse of a cameo, the intaglio is an image carved into a stone.  The stones are made using the same technique and tools developed over a century ago when the manufacture of glass tones was popularized in Europe around 1910 by the designer Renee Lalique. Each stone is hand pressed and polished by master craftsmen.

The company Extasia began in 1991 when its founder Stefanie Freydont envisioned a line of jewellery that emanated the old world craftmanship and classic  beauty whilst addressing current fashion trends. It is hand crafted in northern California, USA, with the hand pressed glass intaglios being made in a small Bavarian Village using original steel molds and techniques unchanged from the 1800's.

This is a beautiful set with a large intaglio central to the necklace measuring a little over 3cms across set in to a bronze frame. The necklace is a combination of real freshwater baroque pearls and french glass beads. There is a firm lobster claw clasp. The length end to end is 44cms  including 5cms bead extension. The silver grey baroque pearls and green glass beads each measure approx 5mm across.   The earrings are for pierced ears with gold filled wires. Measurement of the oval emerald glass intaglio is 2cms x 1cm also set in to a bronze frame.  Likely to have been made during the past 20 years, the set is in perfect condition, and gift boxed by Vintage Online.
