Emerald Glass Intaglio Statement Necklace & Earrings by Extasia
Signed Extasia. The signature look of Extasia is the use of the glass "intaglios" which are hand crafted using steele molds. The reverse of a cameo, the intaglio is an image carved into a stone. The stones are made using the same technique and tools developed over a century ago when the manufacture of glass tones was popularized in Europe around 1910 by the designer Renee Lalique. Each stone is hand pressed and polished by master craftsmen.
The company Extasia began in 1991 when its founder Stefanie Freydont envisioned a line of jewellery that emanated the old world craftmanship and classic beauty whilst addressing current fashion trends. It is hand crafted in northern California, USA, with the hand pressed glass intaglios being made in a small Bavarian Village using original steel molds and techniques unchanged from the 1800's.
