DKNY New York Vintage Bottle Cap Brooch
DKNY is a New York based fashion house for men and women founded by Donna Karan in 1984. Donna began her career as fashion designer for the Anna Klein Fashion House. After the death of Anna Klein in 1974, Karen became the main designer of the House, until she launched her own business - Donna Karan International Inc. In 1985 she began a collaboration with jewellery designer Robert Lee Morris to create jewellery for her first collection. From then on they began a collaboration that lasted over 20 years. Donna Karen jewellery gained huge popularity particularly in the USA and was renowned for being stylish, modern and edgey. She used a quality flat Russian gold look for her fabulous ranges and the bottle cap range which this fabulous brooch belongs to, was very popular during the late 1980's.
Each of the five dangles measure 2cms across., and hang from a gold metal chain which in turn is suspended from an embellished gold tone renaissence style pendant piece. There is a firm roll over safety clasp to the back. Width of the pendant piece is 5cms and drop from top to bottom is 6.5cms. A quirky and highly collectable vintage brooch in very good condition with DKNY signature to the back, and also obvious on each of the bottle caps. Who doesn't love a piece of New York.
