Designer Weiss Vintage Bug Brooch
The Weiss jewellery company began business during the 1940's and closed its doors in the USA in 1971. They were the first jewellery company to use Swarovski's polychromatic aurora borealis crystals created with Dior in the 1950's.These gorgeous bug brooches produced early 1960's are highly collectable. This one has Austrian crystal rhinestones set in to japanned metal with the WEISS signature to the back along with a firm roll over safety clasp. The head of this bug is a pink fully faceted rhinestone whilst the body is irridescent czech glass reflecting blues, purples and reds. He is 3cms long, and 3cms across the wing span.
