Coro Red Confetti Lucite Necklace, Bracelet & Earrings Set, Mid Century
Lucite acrylic resin was created by the American Company Dupont in 1937 and went on to be a very popular material for costume jewellery after the second world war. It continued in popularity through the 1940's, 1950's through to the 1970's. This is a gorgeous 1950's set with what is called a confetti finish due to the transparent material containing small chips or glitter encased within. This is set off by the beautiful deep cranberry red colour. The set is encased in gold tone metal with necklace, bracelet and clip on earrings matching in triangular shaped lucite pieces each measuring 1cm x 2cm. The necklace measures 41cms end to end and a small extension chain can be attached for further length if required. The bracelet measures 17cms end to end., with a firm roll over clasp. The earrings which are comfortable and firm set in gold tone metal measure 2cms x 2.5cms. There is minor surface wear to the back of each piece commensurate with an age of more than 60 odd years, but it does not detract from the look at all.
