Vintage Arcansas Australian Designer 1960's Necklace and Earrings
Elizabeth Reimer vintage jewellery is highly collectable. Australia was not a big production centre for costume jewellery during the 1950's and 1960's. Much of the costume jewellery came from the USA, Hong Kong, and the UK. Elizabeth Reimer however learnt the skills of jewellery making from her father, an immigrant from Hungary and a skilled goldsmith. She went on to be successful from the 1950's and during the 1960's working initially from her garage, and then becoming successful enough to set up her own factory. Her success in producing quality and stylish costume jewellery became known and much of it was sold throughout Australia and Japan under the company name Arcansas. This lovely set of necklace with matching earrings consists of lucite leaves with gold tone drops with small crystals. Length of the necklace end to end is 43cms ending with a hook clasp. Both earrings and Necklace are marked Arcansas. The central front piece of the necklace measures 5cms x 2cms. The earrings are clip on measuring 3.5cms x 2cms. All in very good condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
