Antique Victorian Snake Knot Brooch
Lovers Knot brooches were very popular during the Victorian era after Albert presented Victoria with a snake engagement ring. Snakes are meant to signify eternal love and knot brooches became popular gifts. This one is in excellent condition considering it is now well over a hundred years old. The rolled gold knot has engraving and centrally set with a large faceted citrine glass stone. Dated to late 19th, early 20th century. Size of the citrine stone is 2.5cms x 2cms. Overall size of the brooch is 4.5 x 5cms. Very beautiful, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
