1970's Wendy Gell USA Strolling Sailors Patriotic Brooch
Wendy Gell became a highly sought after costume jewellery designer during the 1970's - 1980's, particularly after being featured in the American Vogue Magazine in 1982. She went on to design jewellery for many of the sought after couturiers of the time, employing 45 staff in her Fifth Avenue, New York workroom. She went on to be a painter and writer and her earlier jewellery is highly collectable today. This is a fabulous design called Strolling Sailors. Very smart with their enamelled uniform, rhinestone jackets and faux pearls set in silvertone metal. A firm roll over safety clasp to the back. In excellent condition measuring 5cms x 3.5cms.
