1940's Egyptian Revival Cicada Brooch and Earrings Set-Vintageonline-Vintage Online

1940's Egyptian Revival Cicada Brooch and Earrings Set

$50.00 AUD

The image of the scarab as a symbol of re birth or new beginnings was used in jewellery often after the opening of Tutankhamun's tomb in the 1920's.  A costume jewellery period known as Egyptian Revival became very popular through to the 1940's. This lovely vintage set reflects that time and would have been produced during the 1940's period. There is a filigree metal  brooch measuring 4cms across, centred with a Cicada. The matching earrings are screw on measuring 1.5cms x 2.5cms.  In very good condition, gift boxed by Vintageonline. (the trick with screw on earrings is to tighten them as far as they will go, and then back the screw off until its comfortable.)
